Life Update: Back in Colorado

Last week I finished up the summer semester at school and hopped on a plane back to Colorado for the summer. I’ve been home with my family for a few days, and I’ve really settled in to being back. The weather has been really good here this week, and I’m enjoying spending lots of time in our backyard with my pets. I start work in a couple of days, and I’m planning some DIY projects to share on the blog with all of you. Until then, here are a few snapshots of the last few days at home.

Quinoa Salad

My mom and I made this incredible warm quinoa salad for dinner last weekend.

Puppy Love

Ben is still doing pretty dang good for a 12 year old (almost 13!) shepard. He’s such a handsome fellow!

My parents spent the better part of last year putting up this gorgeous beetle-kill wood on their back porch. The picture doesn’t do it justice, it’s really beautiful in person!

Elouise spends most of her day outside in the garden. Summer is definitely her favorite time of year.

Banana Bread

A fresh loaf of banana bread hot from the oven.

I hope you’re all having a great June — can you believe the 4th of July is next week? I can’t. Slow down, summer!

Life Update: Making Goals

It feels good to finally write a couple of blog posts again — it’s been a long couple of weeks, and I’m beyond ready for summer semester to end so I have a little bit of a break from school. I have some big goals for the blog this summer, and I’m hoping to really dig into those goals while I have some time off from classes and get back to the roots of what I envision Imperfect Chevron to be. More to come on that soon…for now, here are some photos from the last few weeks of my life.

Pittsburgh 2

Could Pittsburgh get any more beautiful? I snapped this shot before heading up the Duquesne Incline with some friends a couple of weeks back.

Okay, maybe it’s not “real sushi” because it’s chicken, but man was it delicious. Ginger-dressing is always the way to go!

I’ve been taking advantage of the warmer days and walking in Schenley Park quite a bit. It really helps me calm down and get a break from the stresses of school for a few minutes.

I treated myself to fresh flowers this week (it was a doozy, I needed something to lift my spirits!). I don’t think anything is quite as special as having fresh flowers in your room.
